PCIP Preexisting Condition Insurance Plan breaks 30,000 EnrollmentsReports updated earlier report milemarker thirty thousand enrollees in the government health insurance program. The plan, either State run or Federally administered by Department of Health and Human Services is recieving now tens of thousands of applicants to the Preexisting condition insurance pcip program. Although approximately 1/5 of applications are not eligible, the plan is showing momentum and awareness. Applicants are also encouraged to make certain to follow the qualifications for elligibility found at http://preexistingconditioninsuranceplan.com/pcip-eligibility or contacting the Insurance Resource Center.
Affordable Care Act brought about by Health care reform signed March of last year had a slow start. Applicants are encouraged to spread the efforts via word of mouth and the compounding affects now are being seen.
* Massachusetts and Vermont are guarantee issue states that have already implemented many of the broader market reforms included in the Affordable Care Act that take effect in 2014. Existing commercial plans offering guaranteed coverage at premiums comparable to PCIP are already available in both states. ** Enrollment for June 30, 2011 was reported as 506 individuals.
